We're Project Intentional!

Who started this?

In November 2019, I (Sasha) was asked what I wanted for Christmas. After some thought, I decided I wanted to adopt a mom—a random mom who might need a little extra love that season.

So, I posted in one of my Facebook mom groups:

“For Christmas this year, I told my friends and family I want to adopt a single mom who is expecting. I saw someone post on here yesterday, and there was a magnitude of women willing to help her get things for her kids or diapers...
I was then thinking—could we make this a thing? Mamas unite!! If you are a single mother, comment on here a little about yourself, your location, needs, your babies, and how we can help.
Moms—if you can help and want to adopt a mom in NEED—simply reply to their comment with ‘ADOPTED’ and reach out to the mom to link up.
LET’S DO THIS, MOMS! Let’s embrace one another and help each other out!!!!!
Make sure to include things YOU need, not just your kids. I believe in the power of social media. I hope this happens!”

About 100 women in need commented—and I’d say 80% of them were adopted. While I couldn’t adopt every mother who reached out, 370 comments later, I knew this was bigger than just a one-time post.

I had found my mission: to help women. To provide resources. To make the holiday season a little brighter, and the load a little lighter.

The Birth of a Movement

What started as a "wouldn't it be cool if..." moment turned into a sit-down with my sister Samm. I asked her to help me file for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status—and Project Intentional, Inc. was born February 4th, 2020.
